Peco Signal Box Conversion

The railway junction of the Blyth Cambois Maintenance Depot and Blyth Power Station was controlled by the Freemans crossing signal box, I was quite keen to have a signal box of the same style on my model railway layout but unfortunately there isn't one available as kit so I decided to go for the Peco signal box (LK 83)
I had intended to build up the model as per the instructions and place it on my layout but I knew I wouldn't really be happy with that, around this time a free magazine supplement appeared which showed how to convert the Peco signal box into something very close to what I was after.
So, with tools in hand I decided to have my first attempt at kit bashing, I had to buy some additional items to complete the conversion, some Will's Brick Sheets, a sheet of Plasticard and some Evergreen Profiles.
I am pleased with the way the signal box turned out, it's not perfect by any means but it should look fine when it is finished and placed on my layout.
The steps on the full-size building are different to the way I did them on the model this is because I didn't feel confident enough to make them the same.

This is Freemans crossing signal box, this is the signal box I needed to try to copy for my layout.

Above is how the signal box would turn out if it was built using the supplied instructions.

This is the Peco signal box converted and weathered, there are still a few things to do to complete the signal box, the crossing lamp is still to fit along with some interior lighting and a few other bits and pieces.
Obviously there are still differences between the full-size and my model but I'm happy with the way it turned out.
